Generic Name : Colistin Sulphate
Chinese Pronunciation : Liusuan Nian Junsu
The main ingredient is colistin sulphate which is a sulphate of colistin . The potency of 1mg product should not less than 17,000 colistin units calculated with the reference to the dried substances.
Characteristics :
The product is a white or almost white powder , odourless , hygroscopic . Freely soluble in water , almost insoluble in ethanol , acetone and chloroform .
Pharmacology Action : Colistin sulphate is an alkaline and annular polypeptide which has a high selective activity of anti gram-negative microorganism, especially be strong effective against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia Coli, Salmonella bacteria, Pseudomonad bacteria. It causes disorganisation of the bacterial cell membrane with leakage of intracellular materials, such as purine, pyridine, nucleotide, etc., by combination with the phosphate in the cytoplasm. It can inhibit bacterial oxidative metabolism and result in the death of susceptive bacteria.
Indication : Antibiotics . It can be used to cure intestinal diseases caused by gram negative bacilli , it also has effect of gaining growth .
Administration And Dosage : Mixed in water or mixed with feed . 20-60mg for chicken (600,000 units 1,800,000 units ) per liter water . 40-80 mg for pig (1200,000 units 2400,000 units ) per kilogram feed .

Precaution :
1.Don’t use with soluble barbital or VB12.
2 Don’t medicate to the hens in the laying cycle.
